I’m Matt Brooks, a photographer and videographer based in Sheffield, UK.
I've been going to gigs, festivals and club nights for over 20 years. Long before I picked up a camera professionally, I was in the crowd, in front row at concerts, lost in fields at festivals, in dark rooms watching DJs work. That world isn't new to me, and I think it shows in the portfolio i'm building. I know how these spaces feel, how they move, and where the moments happen before they happen.
The photography and videography side grew naturally out of that. I wanted to capture what I'd always experienced as a fan.
Outside of shooting, I spent over a decade working in fast-paced creative and digital agencies - building websites, supporting design and creative projects, and keeping complex work moving under pressure. I've also been ran and collaborated on live club events for over 16 years. That background shaped how I work on projects and events: organised, communicative, calm when things get hectic, and focused on deliverables.
I'm still growing as a visual creative and I mean that in the best way, there's always a new venue, a new artist, a new challenge I haven't shot before.
